The advantages compared to conventional spot repair

- Precision: UV automotive paint repair can target minor damage, such as scratches or stone chips, without having to repaint the entire paint area. This preserves the original colour and finish of the vehicle, resulting in a more precise repair.
It is important to note, however, that not all paint damage can be repaired with UV car paint repair. For more extensive damage or if the paintwork is badly damaged, a conventional repair method may be required.
How does UV drying work?
The so-called photoinitiators, chemical components of the UV coating, are decisive here. When they are activated by UV-A light, the curing process begins. UV coatings always require a UV lamp for drying. Sunlight alone does not usually provide the evenly dosed radiation necessary for uniform curing. Curing depends on the wavelength and dose of the UV lamps.
It all depends on the right dose
In the meantime, there is an extensive range of UV LED lamps from various manufacturers in different versions. Important: SprayMax UV products require a UV-A spectrum of 365-395 nm for curing. The higher the wattage, the faster the drying.
